I had been feeling down for a time. I didn’t want to play video games. I couldn’t get out of bed, I didn’t want to go to school, I was crying a lot, and got really angry with myself and I couldn’t stop all the scary, negative thoughts and I definitely didn’t want to hang out with anyone, so my mum noticed and I went to talk to this counsellor. I told the counsellor how life didn’t seem doable any more. We talked about how depression bullies you into stuff, like not doing things just because you don’t enjoy them anymore. I started to do some stuff that I was good at and hang out with friends. When I got to understand how depression was bullying me, I chose not to listen to it cause it would get really loud if I did. I didn’t pay attention to those thoughts and focused on something else. My mum started juicing fruit and vegetables for me and I started eating better. My depression got better, and even if I have a bad day, I know what to do so I can get on with living my life.
