Living with parents

I live with my parents and my 11 year old brother. There has been heaps of arguing at home over the past few months between myself and my parents. We have been fighting every day and no one listens. The house is a ball of stress. I just don’t feel like they get me. The arguments are usually about me going out, school and the kinds of friends I hang out with. I am frustrated with them and try to avoid speaking to them by spending more time with friends. I know they feel the same and recently we all agreed that things aren’t great at the moment. My parents bribed me into going to a family counsellor. At first I didn’t think it would do any good, but the lady we are seeing is OK….so far! She is talking to me about what I have to do to get my parents off my back. The other night, my parents actually stopped and listened to me. For the first time in ages, I felt like they liked me. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good start.
