i recently found out I was gay I was just wandering if there are any lesbian dating sites for under 18s because I would really liked to meet someone I had a look online and you have to be 18 plus to sign up just wandering if you have ideas?

There are no specific dating websites for under 18s that we can find that are same-sex attracted specific, however Qlife is a great organisation to call or speak to online, as they will know about social and support groups in your area. This could help to widen your social circle with other lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) teenagers, and they may know of dating sites. Another great website is Minus 18 – they organise social events for under 18 LGBTI teens.

I have listed the details for these organisations below.

  • Minus 18 is Australia's largest youth-led organisation for LGBTI. It includes mental health support (with youth workers and peer mentors), social events, dance events, and online support, resources and forums.
  • Qlife is a national telephone and online referral service for LGBTI people. Although it is not a youth-specific specific, you can talk to someone on the phone or chat online with a support person. Call 1800 184 527 or visit their website.

If you start to feel overwhelmed by this or how you’re feeling, it would be good to talk to a trusted adult. If you don’t have an adult you feel comfortable talking to about this issue, some great serviceswhere you can get information about relationships and your health in relationships are below. These services have websites with information pages, as well as confidential telephone support with very friendly people on the end of the phone who would love to talk to you.

We also provide counselling for children, young people and families in our centres in Melbourne and regional Victoria. These include Ballarat, Boronia, Cranbourne, Greensborough, Kew, Sunshine, Shepparton and Traralgon. You can find out more about our counselling service here.
